Understand the problems a child may be having with reading- Target the Problem
Language is made up of sounds. We know that children who can tune in to language patterns (recognize rhyming words) and manipulate sounds within language (if I change the /a/ in cat to an /I/ I have the word kit) will be more successful learning how to read. Being able to do these tasks is having strong phonological awareness skills. Research has proven that all children benefit from practice in these importance skills.
Parents, you can help by playing ” sound games” with your child! Here are some links that will help you.
